- Pastor Peggy Ray was attending the 6/17-20/2010, Annual Pacific Northwest Conference of the United Methodist Church. It was held at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma. The 6/20/2010 sermon, “Come, O Thou Traveler Unknown,” was delivered – partly in song acapella – by Steve Swannack, who farms in Lamont. He was accompanied by his wife, Ann Swannack, a District Conservationist for the USDA-NRCS. Read about the Swannacks in a May 2008 article in The Fig Tree newspaper of Spokane. John Elwood and Sally Burkhart provided special music.
